We are two fully-accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapists, passionate about helping people improve their mental health and wellbeing.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy with a strong evidence base for its effectiveness in treating difficulties with anxiety and low mood. It looks at how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours impact one another and maintain patterns that may be holding you back in life.

It is a short-term therapy, typically lasting anywhere between 6 and 20 sessions.

CBT is recommended by NICE

CBT is recommended by NICE (the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence) as the gold-standard treatment for anxiety and mood disorders. It has earned this status because CBT has been proven effective in hundreds of clinical trials across many different conditions, including:

  • excessive worry

  • panic attacks

  • health anxiety

  • social anxiety

  • obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD)

  • phobias

  • depression

  • low self-esteem

  • post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

CBT is solution-focused. You choose a problem you would like to work on, and together we use cognitive and behavioural techniques to help you move closer to your therapy goals.

Sessions last 50 minutes to an hour and are typically held weekly.

Each week, you’ll have exercises to work on between sessions. These are agreed collaboratively, and completing them will help you get the most out of your therapy.
