How Our Female-Led CBT Service Began — Over Drinks and Laughter at a Christmas Night Out
It all started, as so many good ideas do, over dinner and drinks at a Christmas night out. A group of women — all therapists, all passionate about helping people through Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) — gathered to celebrate the end of a busy year. Between the laughter, the stories, and the clinking of glasses, a spark of an idea began to take shape.
We were talking about the challenges women face in therapy — both as clients and as professionals. We shared stories of burnout, of balancing work and family, of wanting to do therapy differently: with compassion, flexibility, and authenticity. Somewhere between dessert and laughing, someone said, “Why don’t we just create the kind of service we wish existed?”
And that was it — the moment everything changed.
Over the following weeks, that Christmas night conversation turned into a vision. We wanted to build a CBT service led by women, for everyone — a space where therapy is collaborative, inclusive, and grounded in real-life understanding. A service that values quality over quantity, relationships over referrals, and authenticity over appearance.
From those festive beginnings, our female-led CBT practice was born. Each of us brought our own strengths — clinical expertise, creative energy, and an unshakable belief in the power of women working together.
Now, just under twelve months ago, as we launch our website, we still carry that same spirit that started it all: a mix of warmth, courage, and the kind of laughter that reminds us therapy doesn’t have to be cold or clinical — it can be deeply human.
